Nazka develops Vortex' new map interface for wind energy
It was early 2020 when experts in the renewable energy industry from the Spanish private company Vortex contacted Nazka. They were looking for help to revamp their existing map interface. Vortex models wind resource data for the wind industry at any site around the world, their customer base was growing fast, causing their map interface to loose performance.
Vortex gives their customers direct access to their models results through their map interface. Each model run is visualized separately, different types of products result in different type of runs. A quite innovative approach, which results in many runs per client. Nazka re-developed their map interface from scratch. We kept to good things, improved the bad things and got rid of the ugly things. Eyecatchers in the updated interface are the smart clustering with a nice visualisation of underlying type of runs, the triple split screen for large screens and the interactive legend.
The final result is a fully fledged map interface, with API-driven content and behaviour, authentication, paying modules and many more. An excellent use case on how fruitful cooperation with mutual trust leads to great results.
