Merci RiK!
Just who is that mysterious Rik you saw chalked on the road during every cycling race in Flanders in 2024? Through a guerrilla campaign by the Limburg Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage, Flanders slowly fell under the spell of “Merci Rik.” At the end of April it became clear they were talking about Henri l'Allemand, Rik for friends, pioneer of the first round of Limburg.
Nazka secretly developed the website and map application that brings Rik's route to life. The interactive map guides visitors in the wheel of Rik through his juicy travelogue. They can also add new points that Rik overlooked and help to build a new Tour of Limburg. The data is completely managed by the province of Limburg thanks to a customized CMS based on the expertise of the Onder de Radar project.
The Rik website and interactive map was developed in a turnaround time of only 12 weeks. Such a fast result is only possible thanks to a very smooth cooperation between the partners, the build-up experience in our Mapframe and an excellent team spirit!
As some say in cycling: these are not pancakes.
