The Global Wind Atlas
The Global Wind Atlas is developed to help policy makers and investors to identify potential areas for wind energy generation all over the world. This tool was established in the cooperation with the World Bank, the technical university of Denmark and the ESMAP program.
The GWA tool makes it possible to execute initial assessments by means of clear graphs and offers freely downloadable wind datasets per country or for a custom research area. The scale and color legend of the raster layers on the map can be adapted to the preferences of the user and will be saved for the next visit. Furthermore the whole application is available in 6 languages.
The Global Wind Atlas enables a global dissemination of information about the wind potential and is therefore an essential tool for thousands of users in search of wind data.
